the benefits depend on the type of mask you are using. they could be focused on getting rid of the top layer of dead skin that if left alone will lead to deeper creases and wrinkles in your skin. or maybe a deep moisturizing mask to replenish dry dehydrated skin. Or most traditionally masks have been for the purpose of deep pore cleansing with a mask such as a clay based that is supposed to suck all the impurities out of your pores. well... this leads me to say that often when your skin goes through any trauma or even change in balance, it could react and the standard reaction tends to be pimples or blemishes or rash or swelling. Once it settles down from the mask treatment, your skin is supposed to benefit from the treatment or mask and I think I agree with this but it does not help pimples immediately. In fact it will aggravate if nothing else. But in the long run, they are beneficial for pimples and definitely blackheads.
