A great, quick little mask you can do at home

The following is a great, quick little mask you can do at home.
It cleans & clears the skin. If you have quite a few blemishes (not just blackheads, active acne) follow up with an good moisturizer such as Cetaphyl or Purpose.

"The aspirin mask is a homemade BHA mask available to each and everyone of us, totally inexpensive and highly efficient, made of salicylic acid or tablets of aspirin. BHA is known to help tremendously with cleaning pores from deep inside and therefore contribute to keeping our skin blemish-free. BHAs are efficient on existing blemishes as well, by helping them heal faster and keeping pores clean afterwards."

This mask is good for all skin types, especially normal to oily and combination skin, acne-prone and clogged skin.
"Basic preparation: 1/4 tsp. salicylic acid (ask for it at pharmacy, if you cannot find it, then crush 3-5 tablets of plain aspirin instead), distilled water. Mix the powder with the water until it becomes of a creamy consistence, apply on clean dry skin (focus on T-zone and sides of the nose). Keep it on until completely dry. Take a small cotton pad, wet it lightly and begin scrubbing the areas covered with the mask, making small circles. Finally, rinse with plenty of water. It would be excellent to apply a calming mask or a hydrating mask first, followed by your regular moisturizer. Skin will be left completely smooth and even."

Skin Care and Facial

Daily skin and facial care is much more effective in making us look beautiful than any cosmetics in the world. Here we are going to discuss some of the tips and tricks that we can use to make us look younger and more beautiful without spending too much of extra time and money:

1.Use the toning mixture of equal parts of water and vinegar and dissolve few aspirins in it twice a day to counter any aging signs in your face. Vinegar flakes off dead skin cells while aspirin is a superb anti-acne product and is also effective on deep acne spots. However, it tends to make skin thinner like store bought toner and so sun block with at least SPF 15 should be used essentially everyday.
2.Wash your face several times a day and wipe off with a clean cloth to keep acne off the oily skin.
3.Get a quick facial at home by splashing your face with lots of warm water and then massaging it with olive oil to moisturize your skin. Use a half-teaspoon of sugar for scrubbing your face and keep rubbing it until it melts away. Wipe off your face with a warm, wet cloth.
4.Olive oil works well as face and eye makeup remover.
5.Clean you nails with white vinegar before applying nail polish for a smoother finish and make it last longer.
6.Olive oil mixed with melted beeswax is a great lip balm.

Facial Skin Care Tips

Facial skin care for dry skin:
Regular bath soaps clean well but are powerfully alkaline and irritating for both dry and sensitive skin. Clear soaps containing glycerin and alcohol may also be too drying. So, as an alternative of soap, dermatologists suggest a soap-free, sensitive skin cleansers.

Facial skin care for normal skin:
You’re one of those lucky people whose face can take some abuse and still bounce back, looking fresher than ever. Almost any cleanser (from regular bath soap to sensitive-skin bars) will work for you. If you need a moisturizer — some people with normal skin don’t! — choose a light, hypoallergenic, preservative free, all-purpose, water-based moisturizer after washing.

Facial skin care for oily skin:
Regular bath soap, morning and night, is fine for cleansing — your skin actually benefits from the drying effect of strongly alkaline bath soaps. If necessary, use an astringent pad at midday. Because your skin is naturally oily, you may not need a moisturizer. But if you do, choose one that’s noncomedogenic (won’t cause acne) and either oil-free or water-based Neutrogena or Aveeno, for example.

Facial skin care for combination skin:
Dermatologists recommend one of two cleansing routines for women with combination skin. You can wash with a gentle facial cleanser in the morning and use an alcohol-free astringent on oily areas later in the day. Or wash with a soap-free cleanser on dry areas and with regular bath soap on oily areas. Treat dry patches as dry skin, then apply a water-based or oil-free noncomedogenic moisturizer to your entire face.

Skin care tips for every type of skin:
No matter how oily, dry or sensitive your skin, always clean gently. Use warm (not hot) water and your fingertips (not a wash cloth). Rinse well. Then use a towel to pat (not rub) your face dry. Wash your face no more than once or twice a day. After patting skin dry, apply moisturizer to skin while it’s still damp to ensure that it is absorbed. Unless your moisturizer provides protection from damaging sun rays, consider applying a light sunscreen as well.

Some tips to skin !!!

List of some valuable herbs and their properties:
Alfalfa extract - anti-inflammatory
Dandelion extract - anti-bacterial, astringentLicorice extract - anti-inflammatory
Hops - astringent
Salicylic acid - from fruits or plants ? good for acne and warts ..preventing pores from clogging up.
Sugar cane - exfoliant
Maple Sugar ? exfoliant
Orange extract - moisturizer, antioxidant
Lemon extract - astringent
Honey - anti-septic, antibacterial

Soap dries the skin and disturbs its natural PH mantle. If you have oily or acne-prone skin, soap will make your sebaceous glands overproduce oil, and if you have dry skin, soap will make it feel drier and tighter. Instead of using soap, try making your own cleanser from natural ingredients.

Cleansers:
Olive Oil

Take a small amount of Olive Oil (extra virgin) and massage around on your face. You can add some of the extracts mentioned above. After massaging (like you would a normal cleanser) take a warm wash cloth and wipe away. You might need to do this twice. Afterwards, rinse with clear cool water. You can then spritz with a homemade toner.

Masks and Facials:

Oatmeal and Honey
Mask Mix oatmeal, either cooked or raw, with enough honey to make it sticky. Apply, leave for twenty minutes or so, and rinse off with plenty of water. It will tone oily skin, refine the texture of the pores, and gently lift a face that's in general poor condition, especially after illness or depression.
Honey Mask
Honey is a lovely mask. Massage it into your skin, and keep adding more and patting it on till your face is very tacky. Rinse it off, and your skin will look fresh and glowing. Honey is antiseptic, hydrating and cleanses the pores. However, if you're prone to odd pimples, don't use this before a big night - sometimes its ability to suck impurities out of the skin means you get a zit. A beaten egg also makes a great nourishing mask.

Honey and Skincare Recipes

Honey has many good properties like magnesium, potassium, calcium, sodium, chlorine, sulfur, iron and phosphate. It contains vitamins like B1, B2, C, B6, B5 and B3.
Honey's natural antioxidant and anti-microbial properties help to protect the skin from the damage of the sun's rays, supports the skin's ability to rejuvenate and refresh depleted skin, leaving it feeling silky soft and supple.

* Honey Facial Mask

1 tbsp. honey, 1 egg white, 1 tsp glycerin and in proportion add flour to all the ingredients to whisk up a smooth paste. Spread this paste all over your face including the neck and leave it for 10 minutes. Wash it off with warm water.

* Moisture MaskMix

2 tablespoons honey with 2 teaspoons milk. Smooth over face and throat. Leave on for 10 minutes. Rinse off with warm water..

* Honey Cleanser
Mix 1 tbsp. honey, 2 tbsp. finely ground almonds with 1/2 tsp lemon juice. Rub it on your face. Rinse it with warm water.

Some facial mask recipes for oily skin

1.Using the queen helenes Mint julep it is cheap and working well

2.Mash 8 strawberries/half a papaya with 3 tablespoons of honey. Apply on the face, arms, neck and legs. After 15 minutes rinse with cold water for instant brightening and oil control also You can apply tomato juice on your face it controls excess oil production.

TIPS:A little tip with your clay masks - whichever one you use...follow up a couple of days later with an exfoliator. The reason is that the clay mask draws out the impurities, and the impurities will come out even over the next day or 2. Then the exfoliator will slough off, exfoliate away, the stuff that comes out of your pores. I remember learning about this in a school, so I tried it. I could feel and notice "little" things coming out of my pores even 24 - 48 hours later, so I exfoliated as they said, and no more "little" things.

Milk Mask for Dry Skin

1 tsp powdered milk
1 tbsp runny honey
1 tsp aloe vera gel
2 drops essential oil
Preparation:
This is a classic milk mask for the face. Mix ingredients well, apply to face, let sit for 15 minutes, wash off with warm water. This recipe is enough for two. Mix 1 1/2 teaspoons honey, the juice from 1/2 of a lemon, and 3-tablespoon yogurt. Stir in 1 whipped egg white. Apply to face and let set about 15 minutes. Then wash off with lukewarm water.

The aspirin - salt mask

Ingredients

A bottle of non-coated aspirin (any brand will do just fine) and a wee bit of moisturizer.

Instructions

Mash up 6-10 uncoated aspirin in a small dish or bowl. I find using the back of a spoon works best. Mix with the moisturizer until the consistency is that of a fine paste - it should not be runny. If it is, feel free to add another aspirin or two. Apply to face and/or neck. Let dry completely, then rinse off with warm water, rubbing in small circles to exfoliate.
If you're in a hurry, you can use it just as a wet exfoliator - don't bother waiting for it to dry, just massage it into your skin and rinse off.
If you don't have uncoated aspirin on hand, try using Epsom salt, which draws out impurities. As a bonus, you can throw a handful into your bath water and soak in it to soothe tired muscles!

Skin Cleansing Tips

Cleansing removes the dirt, oil, makeup and dead cells that have accumulated on your skin during the day (but again, don't be overanxious- removing all the oil that protects the skin from losing needed moisture will only dry it out). It is so easy to do-you don't need a formula, or special circumstances or a lot of time.
Cleansing your body is something you do regularly each time you use soap in a shower or a bath. Cleansing your facial skin is at least as important, if not more so, and as easy. Cleansing your skin can also treat your skin, if done with the appropriate cleanser in the right manner.
Since most of us have so-called combination skin, the best cleanser to use is one that is water soluble and nondrying, a smooth cream that can be used with your hands, a face buff or a facial brush (you can buy a facial vibrator with attachments that are made for scrubbing and cleansing as well as increasing the circulation in your face). Such a cleanser will remove the dirt and dead cells without drying out the skin. If you prefer a cleansing soap, be sure it is not alkaline (which will dry you out).
For particularly dry skin, you can use a cleansing lotion or cleansing milk-but I wouldn't use soap; it might further dehydrate your skin. If you have very oily skin, you know that it can get dirty easily because dirt and makeup stick to it like glue. Be sure you use a cleansing milk that will remove the dirt but will not add any oil to your skin.

How to cleanse your skin

Cleansing is a very vital part of beauty and skin care. We are living in a very polluted environment, today. The dust, grime and impurities in the atmosphere play havoc with the skin.
Ordinary soap is often dismissed as useless and harmful by many people. The night time routine when you remove your makeup is the beginning of any skin-cleansing program. For some people, their makeup remover is a cleanser, although they still use a separate one to remove eye makeup. For others, a cleanser can be used in addition to a makeup remover.
First, be sure to wash your hands. Then use a gentle, nondrying makeup remover. Spread it on your face and neck, and stroke it with your fingertips or a face buff. Be sure to use a circular motion and alwaysmove upward (gravitywill pull your skindown soon enough). Then rinse off with warm water or a damp washcloth. (If you are going to take a shower, you can cleanse your face there either with a nonalkaline soap or with your cleanser.) If you do this simple cleansing every night, your skin will be able to breathe while you sleep. In the morning, chances are all you will need to do is use an astringent on your face to remove any traces of overnight secretion from your oil glands, and then apply your moisturizer and your makeup.
There are a couple of handy and effective cleansing tools on the market now. One is a rough towel that is used to cleanse and rub the skin on your body. It is a terrific skin reviver and helps remove dead cells. The loofah, a hard, spongelike "tool," is also effective in ridding your skin of the top layer of dead cells. For the face, there is a gentle face buff which helps in cleansing the pores and also in taking off dead cells. You can also buy a brush specifically designed to be used for cleansing facial skin.
When using any of these "tools," be sure to rub gently, yet firmly, particularly on your face. You may need some practice to get this balance down, because it is important to stimulate your skin but not to stretch or damage it.

Tips for Men's Skin Care

1.Keep vitamins such as C and E in your diet regimen.

2.Neglect over exposure to the sun.

3.Do not use tweezers to pull out hairs. When the hair is extruded altogether, the skin heals and a new bump occurs when the hair tries to grow out again.
4.Change razor blades often. Do not use a outdated blade.
5.Like women, men should take care to thoroughly wash their faces at least twice daily to remove dirt and grime.
6.Keep your mustache, beard and sideburns neatly trimmed and groomed.
7.A weekly facial scrub to remove dead outer layers of skin will help gradually eliminate discolorations like brown spots, and also prevent the mein of fine lines.
8.Use moisture lotions on the body, specially on hands, feet, knees, ankles and elbows.

Face Masks

A Face Masks is used once or twice a week to cleanse the skin more thoroughly than your daily routine does. It also refreshes the skin, tightens your pores and removes the top layer of dead cells more efficiently than you can with daily cleansing.
Applying a Face Masks is simple. First you must make sure your face (and hands) are clean. Second, use your astringent to tone your skin. Now put eye cream around your eyes to protect that fragile skin. Then put some of the masque on your fingertips and gently smooth it over your face, stopping at the area around the eyes, and onequarter inch from the hairline (you can also put some on your neck). As the masque is working, it will harden on your face.
After about ten minutes, you will feel your skin tighten-that's the masque revitalizing your skin. It's a good idea not to entertain in a masque, and to tell whomever you are living with what you are doing-women with masques on do resemble ghouls.
Usually Face Masks are left on the face for fifteen to thirty minutes (be sure to read the directions on the box). Try to unwind while your masque is on-in this way your facial muscles will also relax. I like to put on a masque while I take a bath; sometimes I do it while I lie in bed in the evening, learning my lines-when it is quiet and I can relax. When the time is up, I rinse my face with a warm, damp washcloth. I then apply my astringent and moisturizer-and go to bed.
Commercial Face Masks are available at drugstores, skin care centers and the cosmetic sections of department stores. If you prefer, you can make your own Masks at home. Two of my favorites are:
1. Take equal parts (one tablespoon will do) of yogurt and honey; add one egg yolk, and mix gently. Let it stand at room tem perature so it is not cold. Now apply the mixture to your face as per the instructions above. Let it stay on your face for twenty minutes.
2. Another favorite is made from avocados. Simply blend an avocado in a blender or food processor, adding a few drops of lemon (this acts as an astringent which will tighten your pores). Then put it on your face, leaving it on for twenty minutes. Be sure to tone and moisturize when you are done.

Dry skin:Dry skin tends to age prematurely and is wrinkle-prone unless nurtured. The pores are generally fine with a papery texture.Dry skin should not be washed with cold water and soap, nor should astringent lotions be used. Always use a moisturizer during the day and a good cream at night.

Oily Skin: Oily Skin can be quite annoying. When cared for properly it however loses a great deal of the discomfort experienced by some people. Check out the information on this page here what is to be done.It is also true, Oily skin can be quite difficult to handle. Yet, if you give it the right treatment you are certainly able to do something against blemishes and clogged pores too and generally manage it quite successfully.

Facial Care for Men is important

Most of Men hardly think of our skin and when they do then they believe our skin - face and body - is anyhow made from some indestructible material, may be our skin is made of iron or alike. Of course they shave everyday (or almost), they stand in or even enjoy extreme weather conditions - especially whilst outdoor sporting - and care little about our eating habits.
But hey, stop! Do you really intend to continue playing with your health? Because that is precisely what it is.
their skin can take a lot before it shows but show it will - sooner or later - and they will look more than old already in midlife. Is that what you want? Spend a moment and reflect the fact: Men's facial care today is even a matter of social life. Whether you believe it or not, like it or not.

2.Exfoliating: getting rid of the dead skin allows your skin to absorb moisturizer more readily, as well as giving you glowing skin.
3.Toning: Toners remove traces of oil, makeup and dirt, as well as helping to refine pores, tone and tighten skin.
4.Moisturising: It is essential to help skin hydrated. Washing, cleansing and toning strip the skin of moisture, so apply cream immediatley.

They are both great!

Preparing Your Face Before A Facial

Some people don't know how to prepare their faces for a facial. I'm 53 and since I was 13 I've been doing this and I have beautiful skin.

1.Bring pan of water to boil and remove from stove. Carefully tent with a towel and place face over steam, at least one foot from the pan to avoid burning yourself. Be very careful not to burn your skin with the steam. Five minutes or less is enough to open up your pores.

2.Apply mask of your choice.

3.Rinse off mask with tepid water (not hot water), ending with a cold water rinse to close your pores.

Aspirin Face Mask and Other Tips

An aspirin face mask - is one of the easiest and most effective solutions I've ever found.
Crush three or four uncoated aspirin (you can use the coated ones if that's all you have, but the sugar brings the effectiveness down a little) in a little water to form a paste. Mix the paste with a dab of your normal cleanser, then smooth over your face. Throw out any extra - the mixture's only good for an hour or so. Leave on for up to half an hour. The first few times your pores will tingle and get a little uncomfortable, you can wash the mask off as soon as it's dry if the feeling's too much.
I use this and an aspirin/honey mask (same thing, but with honey instead of cleanser) once per week each. Really makes your skin glow! Use a medicated cleanser morning and night. I use PHisohex, it's excellent.
Try not to sleep in your makeup. Wash your face twice and slather on moisturizer (use honey if you don't have any around) half an hour before you shower if you do - it'll fix you right up! Drink as much water as you can handle. I know everyone says it, but it really does work. Add a few glasses if your skin's really bad that day.
I've had terrible skin problems since I was fourteen. My skin's great now (people comment), but if I skip a day or two, and especially if I don't drink enough water, it breaks out terribly.
For breakouts on your back and shoulders, try using using a salt scrub/mask. Grab a handful or two of salt, mix with a little water, and just enough of your normal cleanser to make it wet. Scrub it all over the problem areas, just use your hands, no loofahs or gloves, and wash off. Slather the rest over the same areas and leave on. It hurts the first few times, wash it off when you're ready. I leave it on for half an hour or so, but that's generally because I get caught up in something and forget it's on. The same things (asprin or salt) would probably work on legs, arms or any other problem areas. Leave on less time for delicate skin, and make sure they're not ingrown hairs first!
Hope some of that helps!
